Adva Zakai (Israel, 1975) has lived and worked in Europe since 1998 both as a performer and choreographer. She began her education in Israel, and continued on to the Mime School in Amsterdam. Adva Zakai started producing her own works in 2002, and with much success – she was awarded with several prizes, for her performances as well as for her own pieces. The work of Adva Zakai is characterized by a strong ‘less is more’-attitude, and it often contains reflections on her perception of the audience, as the audience’s perception of the stage. Her pieces are presented in festival and theatres throughout Europe.
