Wild Explosion of Radical Softness is a solo that points toward the collective and the relation between beings and things. Using her body as a craft material and a piece of textile as her partner, Maria Ferreira Silva invites the collective imaginary to resonate through the force of a singular body. She pulls in references from the rich tapestry of both an expansive dance archive and her personal history. In a dance of ghosts, anchored in artistic research on plasticity, this work deals with formation, transformation, explosion, and non-linear time through a game of foreground and background. It wishes to challenge fixed notions of self, space, and relation and to activate care in the interdependency between audience and performer.

The project will be developed to inhabit the black box, museums, and in-situ contexts.
