BOK (bodies of knowledge) is a place where people can learn from each other. Things one usually does not learn, told by voices that are not always heard, from different parts of society and the world. In BOK we exchange knowledge that feeds a more just and humane society. It is a space to listen, to ask, to connect. BOK welcomes life experts rather than professional authorities.
As a semi-nomadic classroom, BOK stays in the same spot in the city for a few weeks or months, and then moves on again.
2020-2021, BOK has been present in different neighborhoods in Brussels. You can find the corpus of embodied knowledge shared by all its participants here.
To honor all that precious local knowledge, there was a gathering on March 13, 2022, in Kaaitheater, The Big BOK Multiplication.
In spring 2022, there will be, for the first time, a local BOK in another city, in another country. From April 23- June 11, bodies of knowledge (Bergen) will be set up by BIT Teatergarasjen, under the guidance of the Brussels BOK team.
In the meantime, BOK is evaluating and developing its internal organization, its public presence and its future plans. We hope to meet you soon, in your neighborhood, to learn together.
