Walking the Line 2017 - Benjamin Vandewalle

For his new project Walking the Line, choreographer Benjamin Vandewalle is moving in the city once again. He directs a group of spectators in a series of purposeful actions: some actions are banal, some unconventional. The individual participants transform into one collective body.

Walking the Line is a walking choreography that reshapes and reinterprets public space. It’s a series of tableaux vivants that allows the audience to rediscover the potential of public space. By taking on a new physical position, being part of a group and watching from new perspectives, Vandewalle wants to cause a shift in the way we perceive our daily surroundings.

Walking the Line is a mix of performance, choreography and installation with a strong visual impact. The creation is all about movement, and its surprising physical, psychological, social and spatial consequences.
