19.05.2012, 10:00 to 13:00: The artist status & First Aid sessions
From May 17 till 19, 24 artistic laboratories and alternative management offices in Brussels join forces in an Open House event to show their practices and research to both public and professionals. Focusing rather on artistic research processes than on final products, these structures provide national and international artists with time, space and tools to develop their works.
Within the frame of the Open House, an information session about the artist status, followed by open advice sessions (First Aid) for artists will be organised on the morning of May 19 in collaboration with VTI, Kunstenloket and Îles.
From 10:00 - 11:00 Liesbeth Dejonghe (OKo, the Flemish Federation of Employers in the performing arts and music sector) presents an overview of the recent developments in the status of artists within the Belgian social security, followed by time for questions.
From 11:00-13:00 collaborators of the VTI, Kunstenloket, Îles and the alternative management offices Caravan Production, Margarita Production and Mokum are available for free and personal information sessions to help artists with their questions about project development, artistic matters, subsidy applications, legal and social matters, networks and contacts, … Each organisation will do this from its specific field of experience.
